Dr. Alicia Carter
Dr. Alicia Carter acquired her education and training at the leading institutions for her specialties.
After receiving her medical degree from the Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York, Dr. Carter completed her residency in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation at New Jersey Medical School and the world renowned Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation. In 2000, Dr. Carter completed a combined fellowship in Interventional Spine, Sports and Orthopedic Rehabilitation at Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. She is board certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine and is currently an Assistant Clinical Professor at Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons.
With over 17 years of experience, Dr. Alicia Carter is one of the most seasoned and respected interventional physiatrists in the New York City area. In order to remain on the cutting edge of non-operative orthopedic care, Dr. Carter is active in numerous professional and academic organizations including the North American Spine Society, International Spinal Intervention Society, American College of Sports Medicine, and the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. She has taught spinal injection techniques for some of these national organizations, including the North American Spine Society.
Dr. Carter is a former marathon runner. Her current personal interests include USTA tennis, latin dance, golf and travel.
